Magellan rainforest – not the dark, lush tropical jungle, and a natural bonsai of shrugged trees with intertwined branches as they meet across the upper edge of the forest in the mountains. No wonder they look like this. Philadelphia and the islands of Patagonia take the strongest head of the prevailing western winds that jump over the southern seas. Here, in the area of the “roaring” 40 degrees wide, the fierce wind almost never falls, rain and snow rain all year round.
