Puquios Wells (Peru)

лв.200

Spiral holes are part of a perfect irrigation system and one of the wonders of Peru’s Nazca desert plateau. These are spiral funnel-shaped holes called pukios, an element of a perfect hydraulic system designed to extract water from underground sources. Under the holes is a system of tunnels that connect them. Their spiral walls “suck” the wind down, increase its pressure and thus move the water to people who use them for household or agricultural purposes.
