Colca Canyon is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States. There are many names – the Lost City of the Incas, the Valley of Wonders, the Valley of Fire and the Land of the Eagles. The cliffs hide many caves in which the Incas stored the food supplies of the empire, digging terraces on the ground. The food was placed in special cylindrical vessels called “kolkas”, which gave the canyon its name. Unique animal species can be seen here, but the stunning natural attraction is the flight of condors. The cross of the condor is an area where the warm air currents gather early in the morning the huge birds, whose wingspan reaches an impressive 3 meters.
