The South American condor, or Andean condor, is a large bird found throughout the Andes. It reaches over one meter in length and weighs between 10 and 15 kg, and the wingspan – up to an impressive 310 – 330 cm. Condors live at high altitudes, usually between 3,000 and 5,000 meters. This specimen is no exception – I watched it over the Colca Canyon in Peru.
