Túcume, also called Purgatorioamong the locals, is the name of a series of rocky “pyramids”of natural origin, graves and other archaeological remains in the Lambayeque Valley near Mount La Raya south of the La Leche River in the Tucume District of the Lambayeque Province of Peru. In this largest valley of Peru there are many natural and artificial water channels and about 250 “pyramids”, of which the largest is Huaca Larga.
